De la Chapelle was founded in 1975 by Xavier de la Chapelle. His goal was to recover the family car marke: Stimula-De la Chapelle. The first car presented was Stimula 55 in 1978. The brand developed by producing Bugatti replicars. In 1996, de la Chapelle launched an original car, the Roadster, designed by Bertrand Barré.
