Due to governments changes in 1956 licenses that allowed to drive small motorcycles were no longer legal to drive vehicles with a capacity lower than 250cc. Because of this BMW was forced to revise their Isetta vehicles and introduce the Isetta 300 with 300cc. The bubble windows were replaced with larger sliding windows.
This car was part of the The Bruce Weiner Microcar Museum that included almost 200 cars. The collection grew for 15 years and was featured in its own museum in Madison, Georgia. The owner of the collection, Bruce Weiner, decided to sell it in auction in the beginning of 2013.
