911 Carrera S Cabriolet (Germany, 2012)

Just two months after the unveiling of the new 911 generation at the Frankfurt Motor Show, Porsche revealed the first Cabriolet versions of the 991 series.

The Carrera S Cabrio drives on a 3.8-litre six-cylinder engine with 400 hp of output, combined with the same seven-gear manual transmission as standard.

The new 911 Cabriolet follows the same architecture as the Coupé with the new new aluminium-steel body. It further innovates in the roof concept where the roof line of the Coupé model is retained in its entirety. Thanks to an intelligent lightweight design, even including the use of magnesium in the hood, Porsche has ensured less weight and more sportiness, lower fuel consumption and greater comfort. The German brand has also managed to cut the weight of the new Cabrio versions significantly, compared to its predecessors.
