Porsche unveiled the new 911 RSR in March 2013, one of the first racecars to be based on Porsche's new 991 chasis.
The design of the livery is quite similar until you look at the car from the top. From the front and sides, it is just a mix of grey, white and red, but from the top, it is obvious that the red is showing a stylized “50” to celebrate 50 years of the 911. The grey reads "911".
The two 911 RSRs are racing in the entire 2013 season of the World Endurance Championship including at Le Mans.
The 911 RSR has a 10cm longer wheelbase and a new dual-wishbone front suspension to replace the previous McPherson struts. Power comes from a 4.0-liter flat six with a Porsche Motorsport designed and built six-speed transmission.
Porsche's biggest priority when creating the new 911 RSR was improving weight distribution. It also used the opportunity to lower the center of gravity.
