"Forgotten Greats #10"
If you love failures then this segment is for you. Jerk! The Toyota Minolta 88-cv was the coolest prototype from Toyota in my opinion. But, the Toyota 7 was probably the craziest. Back in the day when my parents were young, Toyota wanted to enter in prototype racing and also American races. So they decided to do that with the Toyota 7. Originally it was powered by a 3.0 liter V-8, but Nissan brought a car with a 5.0 V-8, so naturally, Toyota failed. But thats not all. They came back with a brand new 5.0 liter V-8. But Nissan came back with a 6.0 liter V-8. So they failed again. If thats not enough failures for you, Toyota developed a highly advanced turbo charging system that boosted the power to 792 hp, and reworked the body so the car wouldnt fly into the crowd. So youd expect the car to either win or explode. Can you guess? IT EXPLODED!! During developmental testing the suffered from a fatal crash and Toyota immediately pulled the plug on the program. Since Im running out of ideas, my inbox is always open.
