Manufactured by Japanese automaker Acura, the MDX is a mid-size luxury crossover sold since 2001, which became the first in its category to offer a third-row seating.

Related to the Honda Pilot, the alphanumeric moniker of the MDX stands for "Multi-Dimensional luxury".

The MDX is built by Honda of Canada Manufacturing Ltd. in Alliston, Ontario, Canada and is the replacement of the slow-selling U.S.-only body-on-frame SLX, based on the Isuzu Trooper.

The MDX is currently in its second generation.
