Amphicar was a German producer of amphibious automobiles in the years between 1961 and 1967. This company’s vehicles were the first and remain the only ones to ever be mass-produced and sold to the public like any other regular car.
The Amphicar name results from a combination between the words “amphibious” and “car”. Amphicar vehicles were produced at Lübeck and Berlin-Borsigwalde, Germany.
