in Europe. It appears that the company still plans on building the mid-engined sports coupe.

Alfa Romeo's plan to return to the US still hinges on the 4C. It wants to bring the mid-engined car to the US as a mid-priced sports coupe to bring interest to the brand before it brings more mainstream models.

The concept 4C's chassis used a mix of aluminum and carbon fiber. To meet the street version's sub-Cayman planned price point, much of this will probably be replaced with high strength steel.

The engine is still planned to be the turbocharged 1750cc engine with roughly 300hp, and it will use a six-speed dual clutch transmission.

If things go as planned, the production 4C will be revealed in 2013 and go on sale in late 2013 or early 2014.
