BMW 6-Series Gran Coupe Enters into the 4 Door Coupe Game

Compared to the standard 6-Series Coupe, the Gran Coupe offers folding rear seats and a small third seat on the rear bench. It comes standard with xenon headlights, dual-zone air conditioning, leather and power seats. Optional equipment includes adaptive, LED headlights and Bang & Olufson stereo. BMW will also offer an M Sports Package and Individual Package. 

The Gran Coupe has a long, low nose that curves over the passenger compartment to the short trunk. Its wheelbase is 113mm longer than a standard 6-Series that gives rear passengers more room. 

The engines in the Gran Coupe are the turbocharged, 4.4 liter V8 with 450hp in the 650i. The 640i uses a turbocharged 3.0l inline-six with 320hp, and the 640d uses a twin-turbo 3.0l, inline-six diesel engine with 313hp. All of the engines come with an eight-speed automatic transmission.

The 650i will be the first model on sale with the 640i and 640d rolling out later this year. BMW's xDrive all-wheel drive system will be an option on the 650i. 

The Gran Coupe will be competing directly with the Mercedes-Benz CLSMercedes-Benz CLS-Class Gen.2Germany, 2010 > present50 versions
