BMW launches Vision Gran Turismo

to reveal the final result. The BMW Vision Gran Turismo was created especially for the videogame and joins the AMG Vision Gran TurismoAMG Vision Gran TurismoGermany, 2014 > 2014. Other brands are also creating unique vehicles to be included in the game .

The car now unveiled by BMW was created by the Design Group of the German company. The vehicle is equipped with an three-liter straight six-cylinder engine, virtually developed by BMW M. With a peak output of 549hp, BMW promises better handling and control in fast laps.

BMW got inspired in its successful touring cars of the 1970s to create the digital vehicle. Still the brand managed to create a modern road racer that shows an image of speed even before getting on-track. With the front and rear spoilers to optimize the downforce, all elements of air circulation serve to reduce drag coefficient while the use of carbon fiber elements allows to reduce the overall weight of the vehicle.

"The development of the BMW Vision Gran Turismo combines our many years of experience in motorsport with the signature BMW Design," explained vice president of Communications of BMW , BMWi and BMW M , Andreas-Christoph Hofmann. "The race car anticipates future racing trends and allows gaming fans even more to experience BMW racing quality,"

To mark the launch of the car visitors at BMW Welt in Munich will be able to test the BMW Vision Gran Turismo at the event BMW M, with the option to use a PlayStation 3 gaming station or a special sports seat with a three-screen display specially designed.

The creator of Gran Turismo and president of Polyphony Digital, Kazunori Yamauchi has revealed his satisfaction with the BMW Vision Gran Turismo.

"The resulting Vision Gran Turismo car was a sports car that was so clearly BMW, that really shows the DNA of BMW. What makes the Vision GT car so recognizable as a BMW, is in things like its compact size, its wide front and rear overfenders. It maintains the strong angular forms from the past, but the car is also given modern, elegant lines."

Other brands will soon launch its innovative virtual vehicles that will be gradually integrated into the Gran Turismo 6 through a series of online updates. Yamauchi addressed a series of invitations to international brands to celebrate the 15th anniversary of the Gran Turismo series.
