Car Videos to Brighten Your Weekend: The Old school racing edition

Car Videos to Brighten Your Weekend has taken a break over the past two weeks because there have not been many great videos out there for us to share with you, but finally there are enough this week to make things worth while. 

While our theme is old school racing this time. We really wanted to share this video with you. Audi announced it had produced a sequel to its Truth in 24 documentary at the end of March. Now it has finally released the first trailer for it. The film will look at Audi's performance at the 2011 24 Hours of Le Mans. If the trailer is accurate, it looks like the film has very high production values and had deep access into the team's performance.

Next up we have some real vintage racing action from a variety of cars including a McLaren M6B, Lola T70 Coupe, 1967 Camaro, 1974 Porsche 911 RS and 1974 Porsche 911RSR at Sebring, Watkins Glen, Laguna Seca, Road America and Paul Ricard. All of the action is from in the cockpit.

The American Le Mans and Indycar Series raced at Long Beach two weeks ago. Before that though, the course was used by Formula 1 from 1976 to 1983. Here is a video from 1978 of a Tyrrell-Cosworth driven by Patrick Depailler. The video is also incredibly well narrated. 

Here is a historically interesting video showing racing in the racing in the former East Germany. It is in German, but the last thing you usually think about with the former East Germany is auto racing.
