Equipped with a 2.2 liter, four-cylinder diesel engine, Jaguar is setting off across the US in a XF sedan to evaluate the engine. Jaguar plans the 2,800 mile journey from New York to Los Angeles to take seven days.
This is not the first stunt that Jaguar has taken the diesel XF on. Earlier in 2011, Jaguar drove an XF from the factory in Castle Bromwich to Munich on a single tank of diesel - a distance of 816 miles.
The diesel XF produces 190 PS and 332 lbs ft of torque emitting 149g/km of CO2. It has a top speed of 140mph.
You can follow the car's journey at either Jaguar's Facebook page or its Twitter for the car's fuel economy, average speed and its total distance.
Because Jaguar does not yet sell a diesel XF in the US, you could speculate whether if the this is Jaguar testing the waters for selling the car in the there.
