EU Auto Industry not Forecasted to Recover Until 2020

AlixPartners does not see sales returning to peak levels until 2020.

Business consultants AlixPartners have released a forecast of the European Automotive industry called the Global Automotive Outlook that predicts that things will not get better until 2020. The report cites high unemployment and the euro crisis. 

It also predicts that automotive demand will fall in Europe by 1 million cars next year to 13.5 million cars that is 3.3 million cars lower than the peak in 2007. Sales will not hit 16 million until 2020 according to the report.
