Massa has struggled this season. He is tied with Michael Schumacher with 23 points in the drivers' championship. His best finish this season was the last race at Silverstone where he finished in fourth place. Before that, his best finish was sixth place at Monaco.
In comparison, Perez has 16 more points than Massa and has finished on the podium twice this season. Massa has yet to finish on the podium this season.
Massa says that he intends to keep improving with every race for the rest of the season.
