The
Ferrari Portofino is the new V8 GT of the
Italian brand. Named after the luxurious Italian coastline village, the model promises a combination of sportiness, elegance and comfort.
At 600hp the
Ferrari V8 Turbo engine makes the
Portofino the most powerful retractable rigid convertible of the brand. Even so, the model offers a generous tailgate and a spacious cockpit with a capacity for four passengers, suitable for small trips.
With 40hp more output compared to the
California T, the new
Ferrari Portofino can hit the 100km/h mark in just 3.5 seconds and reach a top speed of 320km/h.
Compared to the
California T, the
Portofino gets an all-new chassis that means a significant weight reduction of the vehicle. Despite the reduced weight the new pieces of the model were developed in order to increase their torsional stiffness.
Among the new features the
Ferrari Portofino includes the third generation of the brand's electronic rear differential. Along with the evolution of electric power steering, this technology allows an improvement in traction capacity, as well as driving.
In addition to a new, state-of-the-art exterior design, the cabin also holds some new features such as a new 10.2in touch screen, a redesigned steering wheel, passenger display and 18-position electrically adjustable seats. In order to increase the space for the legs of the rear passengers a new configuration of the headrests of the front seats has been incorporated.
The price of the new
Ferrari Portofino is yet to be officially revealed, but will surely be more expensive than the
California T that is for sale for about 150 thousand euros. Its direct competitors include the
Mercedes-Benz SL
