Ford Exporting SUVs to China to Meet Demand

It will send 40,000 Edge and Explorer models there

to China by 40,000 vehicles a year. The first shipments of the American and Canadian built cars are starting in the next few weeks.

Ford has only sold 16,405 cars in China in the first nine months of the year, but it expects that sales will grow quickly.

Despite the high auto import tariffs in China, the market continues to grow. Ford says that until it can keep up with demand with local production, it will continue to export cars there.
