GMC Upgrades Acadia for 2013 with Revised Front

GMC is making some upgrades to its Acadia SUV for 2013 shown today at the Chicago Auto Show.

The new car has a new nose has a three-bar grill and LED running lights running around the headlights. There are also optional HID lights that retain the LED eyebrows. Around back, the glass now wraps around the rear, and there is a new rear spoiler. The Acadia has a choice of new 18-,19- and 20-inch wheels.

The interior has been refitted with more soft-touch materials, visible stitching on the dashboard leather and extra aluminum accents on some trim levels. A rearview camera is standard and is included with a color touch radio.

The Acadia will be one of the first GM vehicles with the center curtain airbag that protects in side impacts. If the occupant is on the opposite side of the crash, it deploys between the front passengers protecting them. There is also optional Side Blind Zone Alert and Rear Cross Traffic Alert for added safety.

The only major mechanical change is the new six-speed automatic transmission that has improved shift response.

The Acadia can also be specified as the heavy duty Acadia Denali that adds body-color body trim, chrome exhaust, 20in machined wheels, leather interior, heated and cooled front seats and all-wheel drive.

The Acadia continues to come with a 3.6 liter, direct injected V6 with 288hp and 270lb-ft of torque.
