Green Car of the Year nominees announced

Winner will be revealed at the Los Angeles Motor Show

The nominees for this year's Green Car of the Year Award have already been revealed by the Green Car Journal, the award organizer. The winner will be announced in November at the Los Angeles Motor Show.

The list integrates five vehicles that according to the magazine have excelled in fostering a more efficient and environmentally friendly driving.

Find out the five nominees in the following gallery and leave us your opinion in the comments box at the bottom of the page.

BMW i3

The BMW i3's nomination is due to its electrical technology, but also because the model can be combined with a combustion engine to allow the increase of autonomy.

Audi A3 TDI

The Audi A3 has been nominated for the high levels of efficiency achieved with the TDI engines. These engines may reach an average consumption of 3.3l/100km.

Chevrolet Impala Bi-Fuel

Equipped with a 3.6 liter engine, the Impala Bi-Fuel can either be fueled with petrol or natural gas (CNG).

Honda Fit Hybrid

Available since 2013, exclusively in the Japanese market, the Honda Fit Hybrid has been nominated for its fuel efficiency.

Volkswagen e-Golf

The e-Golf is Volkswagen big bet for the electric vehicle segment. However this vehicle can also be equipped with a diesel or gasoline, turning it into a hybrid vehicle.
