The Japanese automakers are making a big push for electric cars this year. We have already shown you what the electric vehicles that Nissan and Suzuki plan to have in Tokyo, now it is Honda's turn. It is bringing seven electric vehicle concepts to Japan: three cars, three motorcycles and what Honda calls a power product, which looks like an electric wheel chair.
The Small Sports EV Concept looks like a modernized Honda Beat. Honda did not go into any details about this car, but if it were based on the same platform as the CR-Z, it would be fantastic to see it go into production.
The AC-X is a plug-in hybrid sedan whose styling blends the Honda Insight and current Civic. Ignoring all of the Tron-style lighting, it is an attractive concept that could make it to production.
The Micro Commuter Concept is a small car that is meant to be highly mobile. It is also designed for the Motor Compo scooter to fit in the back.
Honda will also have three electric motorcycles at the Tokyo Motor Show.
The Motor Compo is a small, electric scooter that fits into a frame about the size of a brief case. It actually is not the first time Honda has made a Motor Compo. It made a petrol version that fit in the back of the Honda City in the early 80s.
The RC-E is an electric, sports motorcycle that is meant to have the performance of a 250cc bike.
The E-Canopy is a three-wheeled commuter scooter, and Honda also says it can be used for delivery duty.
Finally, Honda will show the Townwalker, which folds up to save space.
Honda did not make clear which, if any, of these vehicles will be produced.
