The new car will hit the North American tracks next year.
The NSX GT3Acura NSX GT3Japan, 2016 > present will be powered by a tuned version of the 3.5-litre twin turbo engine of the standard car. The nine-speed twin-clutch gearbox will be replaced by a six-speed sequential-shift racing gearbox and the electric motors and respective batteries will be removed, which will save weight.
The chassis hasn't received many updates and is very close to standard. However power will be sent to the rear wheels of the racecar. The NSX GT3 has received a personalized aerodynamic pack, which consists of a special front splitter, a large rear wing, an under-body diffuser and enlarged air vents for better engine cooling.
The car's development has been made initially in Japan, with some testing taking place in Europe. However the racing cars will be produced in Acura’s Ohio plant, the same place where the road version are put together. Further tests will take place on North American circuits.
