will collaborate a £100 million technology, innovation and education center called the National Automotive Innovation Campus at the University of Warwick. Construction will start in September 2014 and plans to open in 2016. The company expects that the new center will double the size of its research team when fully under way.
"Investing in collaboration, innovation, research and education is vital if we want to be on a par with our international competitors. Our future sales success, the success of our global business - and the UK economy - lies in the engineering and innovation that will take place in NAIC,” said Dr. Wolfgang Epple, Director of Research and Technology at Jaguar Land Rover.
The new technology center will focus cutting-edge technology research with large-scale collaboration between 1,000 students and professionals from Jaguar Land Rover and its suppliers. It will include rapid prototyping workshops, engineering workshops and powertrain facilities.
It will work on projects, including electrified powertrains, connected driving and human machine interface.

European Technical Centre, Warwick Manufacturing Group and the UK Government's Higher Education Funding Council England will also contribute to the new research center. Jaguar Land Rover will contribute £50 million of the money for the center.
Jaguar Land Rover already operates tech centers in Gaydon and Whitley.
"The NAIC will become a centre of training and skills to help ensure we have enough young people wanting to develop a career in engineering and manufacturing. NAIC will also play a key role in nurturing the next generation of engineers and technologists," said Dr. Epple.
