started even before the 4C was publically revealed, but Maserati's European boss has made the most explicit hint that the car is actually in the works. However, he would not go so far as to say the car would be based on the 4C and could use a different platform.

Maserati has set a goal to sell 50,000 cars a year by 2015, which will mostly come from the Quattroporte and Ghibli. However, it does not want to go away from its traditional sports car focus. There will be the smaller sports car and larger GranTurismo, which will still be offered as the GranCabrio as well.
