and Porsche 918 have been caught testing together at a private test course.
McLaren is still keeping engine details about the P1 a secret. The current rumor is that it will use a retuned version of the twin-turbocharged V8 from the 12C and a KERS hybrid. However, McLaren refuses to officially answer any questions about the car's powertrain.
Much more is known about the Porsche 918. It uses a 4.6-liter V8 and two electric motors to produce a total of 795ps and 780Nm of torque and a seven-speed dual clutch transmission. It weighs 1,700kg or 1,665kg with the Weissach sport package. Porsche claims that it uses 3.0l/100km and emits 70g/km of CO2.
Next year appears to be a banner year for super cars. Porsche says the 918 will start sales in September. The McLaren P1 will start at about the same time. FerrariFerrariItaly, 1947 > present233 models
