. The car is part of the GREAT campaign and has the words "Innovation is GREAT" as part of its Union Jack livery.

The car will be driving around the UK over the next several months, occasionally with Jenson Button behind the wheel. McLaren asks that if people see the car on the road, they take a photo and tweet it with a photo of #GREAT12C.

The GREAT 12C had its livery designed by McLaren Racing. It will make its debut on September 3 at a screening of the film Rush.

In the case of the 12C, the car is entirely built in the UK from its carbon fiber monocoque to its twin-turbo 3.8-liter V8. Eighty percent of McLaren's cars are exported around the world.

“McLaren is proud to be an ambassador for British innovation and to support the GREAT campaign.  The UK has led the world in the development of technologies which have changed people’s lives, from the jet engine to the Internet.  I believe that we are now seeing a resurgence of that pioneering spirit and McLaren is playing its part," said McLaren Group CEO Martin Whitmarsh.

The GREAT campaign has a goal to reaffirm the reputation of Britain as a technological innovator and a country with a long-term economic future. It wants to bring tourism and investment to the country.
