Mercedes Builds Special AMG Vision for Gran Turismo 6

The release of the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One has received a lot of hype in recent weeks, but if you’re a fan of racing, you might be better of hanging onto your PlayStation 3. Gran Turismo 6 is just weeks away from releasing, and it may prove to be the last great game on the PS3. Vision Gran Turismo.

Mercedes‑Benz Research & Development Center in Sunnyvale, California, created The design of the car and built a 1:1 model that is on display in its building.

The design is meant to simultaneously evoke classic Mercedes models and the future. It features gullwing doors, a long, low hood and highly accentuated wheel arches. The radiator is inspired by the 300SLMercedes-Benz 300 SL Comp...Germany, 1952 > 19523 photos
, but the louvers have been replaced by variable LEDs.

In the game, it makes 577hp and 590lb-ft of torque from a front-mid-mounted AMG V8 biturbo engine.

The design of this concept car reflects to extreme effect the perfect symbiosis between emotional, sensuous contours and intelligently presented high tech," says Gorden Wagener, Vice President Design Daimler AG.

Gran Turismo Producer Kazunori Yamauchi called upon automakers around the world to create digital concepts for Gran Turismo 6 with the theme “Vision Grand Turismo.” The concepts will be slowly added to the game via online updates.
