CEO Dieter Zetsche is preparing to expand the company's compact lineup, including a front-wheel drive, compact car.

"We are considering the final portfolio of the next generation of our compact cars. We have to define it and we may expand the portfolio," said Zetsche.

It is considering adding a CLA convertible and station wagon. An A-Class-based, two-seat roadster is also a long-shot possibility. 

Among these cars, the GLA-Class and CLA-Class will be sold in the US. The B-Class will only be offered there as a pure EV model.
