, including a coupe and convertible, that will be added in the coming years. The C-Class sedan was publicly unveiled at the North American International Auto Show in Detroit.

The C-Class rides on Mercedes’ modular, rear-wheel drive MRA platform. It allows for multiple models to be built on a single platform like Mercedes’ compact vehicle platform.

Designer Gorden Wagener says that all of the variants will have a style similar to the C-Class sedan. All of the cars will have a long hood with a rear-biased cabin.

“You have freedom in the platform with proportions and dimensions. So you can create some pretty diverse cars from that,” said Wagener.
