Italian boutique carmaker Pagani has just unveiled the Huayra Roadster, the drop-top version of Huayra hypercar. The Roadster version will have a limited production of 100 units and promises an exhilarating driving experience that promises to destroy any recent hairdressing. Each unit will be priced from €2.73M. The model will be officially presented to the public at next month's Geneva Motor Show.
New Roadster is lighter than the Pagani Huayra coupé
Against the odds when it comes to creating open-top variantes,
Pagani has managed to create a lighter
Roadster version of its
hypercar. The
Huayra Roadster is 80kg lighter than the coupé but still features the same active aerodynamic flaps.
The car's lightwheight is based on the Carbo-Titanium and Carbo-Triax HP52 monocoque. According to
Pagani this structure uses materials even more advanced than the one used currently to build F1 cars. Although it has the same weight as the coupé monocoque it is 52% stiffer than the one featured on the original model.
Revised Mercedes-AMG V12 engine powers the new Pagani Huayra Roadster
The
Pagani Huayra Roadster is the most powerful version of the Huayra so far. It is powered by a reworked version of
Huayra's Mercedes-AMG M158 twin-turbocharged 6.0-litre V12 engine with 764hp and 1000Nm of torque.
Pagani Huayra
The
Pagani Huayra was first presented to the public in 2011 at the Geneva Motor Show. It started a new era of hypercars in the automotive industry and the
coupé version of the Huayra became the benchmark in terms of lightweight build and innovative performance-based technology.
Thanks to this the
Pagani Huayra has the second largest number of awards in the automobile industry, just behind its ancestor
Pagani Zonda.
