Supra successor underway
According to Koei Saga, the boss of Gazoo Racing, revealed to Autocar at the Monte Carlo Rally that building the new Supra is a dream of his. Although Saga hasn't confirmed that Gazoo will produce the halo model, he revealed that Gazoo's road car team was already working with the new racing hybrid powertrain technology.
Early talks about the Toyota Supra suggest the model will be launched by Gazoo, but there is still no confirmation of whether it will be called Gazoo Supra or Toyota Supra Gazoo.
Gazoo making more use of hybrid technology
Saga's words also indicate that Gazoo is focusing more and more on hybrid powertrains. Gazoo's boss refered that this technology is gaining more importance in the division business core, indicating the World Endurance Championship LMP1 racer and the Japanese Super GT 300 class hybrid-V8 Prius as examples of it.
