also gave some improving on the 911 Carrera, such as the introduction of headlights with four point daytime running lights, new door handles and even a redesigned rear bonnet with a vertical grid and new rear lights.

New and more powerful engines and more efficient

One of the major upgrades of the 911 Carrera is on the engines. The model receives a new generation of bi-turbo engines which have from the outset an increase of 20hp regarding power. The output of the 911 Carrera is now 370hp while the power increased to 420hp on the 911 Carrera S. Both engines have a three liters displacement. The greater output of the 911 Carrera S results from modified turbo compressors with a specific exhaust system and a reconfigured electronic management. Also the torque of the new Carrera 911 and Carrera S engines increased 60Nm, reaching 450 and 500Nm, respectively.

Despite the significant increase in power in the 911, Porsche still managed to make its turbo engines more efficient. Depending on the version the consumption fell by nearly 12 percent, and reduced in the case of the Carrera S PDK 1l/100km to 7.7l/100km. In the case of the Carrera PDK consumption was reduced by 0.8 l/100 km to 7.4l/100 km.

In terms of performance the new 911 Carrera is even more agile and equipped with PDK and Sport Chrono Package can reach 100km/h in 4.2 seconds two tenths of a second less than its predecessor. The 911 Carrera S is also 0.2 seconds faster from 0 to 100km/h. The maximum speed that can be achieved with both engines also increased in the case of the 911 Carrera to 295km/h and in the 911 Carrera S to 308km/h.

Improved chassis

For the first time, the new PASM (Porsche Active Suspension Management) chassis, which reduces the height of the body in 10mm, is standard on all Carrera models and improves the stability in high speed cornering. At the same time the new dampers increment comfort due to a more immediate response and further improve the chassis connection road in sporty driving.

The new 911 Carrera also receives a new steering wheel with a design based on the 918 Spyder supercar. For a daily unlimited versatility, Porsche offers a lifting hydraulic system on the front axle. By pressing a button, distance to the ground in front increases to 40 mm in only 5 seconds, preventing the lower portion of the body to touch the ground, for example while exiting a garage.

New infotainment system

The new Porsche Communication Management (PCM) with online navigation system included and voice control is another feature which is now fitted as standard on the 911. Mobile smartphones can also be connected via Wi-Fi. Also new is the connection of the iPhone with PCM to use Apple CarPlay.

In order to improve navigation, PCM also includes real-time traffic information and even has Google Earth and Google Streetview integrated.

Other PCM components are the Porsche Car Connect and App Porsche Connect, which can be used as remote control of vehicle functions, transfer destination address to the PCM navigation system or use the music streaming services provided by third parties through PCM.
