The FIA has released a provisional calendar for the 2014 Formula 1 season. It still needs to be ratified to become official, but it gives an idea of what the planners want to do for next year. The big news from the schedule is that the New Jersey race has been removed and replaced by a race in Mexico City, Mexico.
The other changes to the 21-race calendar include the addition of the Russian Grand Prix in Sochi and Austrian Grand Prix at the Red Bull Ring. The Korean Grand Prix is moving to April in the first half of the season.
The season would start in Australia and Malaysia back-to-back, then a week off and back-to-back races in China and Korea. It lumps the most of the Asian tracks together early in the year until the second half of the season when the cars return for Singapore and Japan.
The schedule could be approved as soon as the next FIA meeting from September 26-28 but is subject to change until then.
