In 2010 Alfa Romeo is celebrating its centenary and to mark the occasion the Italian Alfa Romeo Register (RIAR) will organize an international rally for the worldwide enthusiasts of the Italian brand. With all collectors, club members or simply owners being invited, the event will be supported by Alfa Romeo and will take place in Milan on 26-27 of June.
The organization wants to gather 3000 cars for the parade that should take place on the streets of the centre of Milan on the 26 June. A few hours before this parade the presentation of a statue donated by RIAR and by many enthusiasts worldwide will take place. Designed by Centro Stile Alfa Romeo with the collaboration of artist Agostino Bonalumi, the statue is inspired by the famous Alfa Romeo 1900 Disco Volante.
A record-braking event will take place on Sunday 27 June, when all crews will line-up, bearing the characteristic "Biscione" emblem on the roof. They will then parade along the inner lane of the Milan ring road and be filmed from a helicopter. On that day there will also be guided tours taking place at the Alfa Romeo Museum in Arese, so that people get to know better the Italian brand.
To participate on the two-day event the enthusiasts just have to register at www.alfisti.com and fill in the form in the Centenary section.
