, the FIA and Red Bull are changing their procedures to prevents these types of accidents from happening again.

The FIA immediately fined Red Bull €30,000 after the race and have changed the rules so that camera crews are banned from the pitlane during races.

Red Bull has conducted a detailed investigation of the accident and believes that it occurred because the right rear tire gun operator pressed the "Go" button accidently.

According to Red Bull, The right wheel rear nut cross-threaded when the operator first tried to screw it in. He flipped the switch on the gun to remove the nut, and the torque twisted the gun out of his hand. When his hand slipped, his thumb pressed the "Go" button on the gun, which tells the jack man to release the car.

To prevent this from happening again, Red Bull is moving the location of the "Go" button so that if it leaves the operator's hand, his or her thumb will be moved away from the button and not toward it.

In the future, Red Bull may also make it so that the "Go" button does not respond if the switch has been flipped to remove a wheel nut.
