Renault Planning Announcement on New, High-End Brand

launching a large, flagship sedan or luxury brand rumored to be called Initiale Paris. Reuters has discovered that Renault is close to making an announcement about future high-end models. 

"A certain number of decisions are about to be announced by Renault in the upmarket segment. They are going to create, I believe, four upmarket models because they've decided to go and fight," said French Industry Minister Arnaud Montebourg in an interview on French TV on Friday. 

Renault has not commented on the minister's comments. It says that it is working focusing on the Clio 4 and Zoe for now. 

The first rumors came from Renault Chief Operating Officer Carlos Tavares and the French newspaper Les Echos. Tavares said that Renault was considering launching the luxury brand and aiming it at China who have an affinity for French luxury goods. 

Montebourg did not say when the cars would be revealed or how he got the information about them.
