is launching a new GreenFuture campaign where it will try to increase the company's sustainability, both for its vehicles and the company itself. The goal will be to use 25% less energy and water for vehicle production, make vehicles with lower emissions and increase recycling by 2018. All of this is meant to happen while Skoda attempts to increase profits and sales.

“To achieve our targets, we are strengthening our sustainability strategy. Under the name of ‘GreenFuture’, we have put together a team of experts to control Skoda's environmental activities more effectively”, said Skoda Chairman Dr. Winfried Vahland.

To make vehicle production cleaner, Skoda will replace coal to power its plants with biomass, which is estimated to reduce CO2 emissions by 45,000 tons a year. It is also installing new machines that use 15% less energy as its factories.

Skoda will also begin auditing dealers on their energy use and awarding dealers with low energy use. The company has also planted a tree in the Czech Republic for each car sold there, which amounts to about 363,000 trees since the program began.

After its vehicles have been used, all of Skoda's cars are at least 85% recyclable.
