While giving an interview to a South African radio station on May 4, Top Gear presenter Jeremy Clarkson said offhandedly that, "there's no Top Gear this year." Then on the morning of May 9, Clarkson cemented the fact that the popular British automotive television show on his Twitter.
He tweeted the following messages in quick succession. "There's a rumour in internet land that there will be no more Top Gears this year. I'm afraid that apart from an Xmas special, it's true"
"Would love to be back in the Autumn but Sunday nights then will be full of fat people singing."
"The good news is that the longer we have to make the films, the better they will be."
"We will be back in January."
"Top Gear is a medium sized van. [Simon] Cowell is a juggernaut. When he has finished his singing competition, our new series will start."
It is hard to call those statements anything but definitive. However, it is nice to know that there will be another Top Gear Christmas Special. That is something to look forward to.
