This weekend is not too exciting for world championship races. Formula 1, the World Endurance Championship and World Rally Championship all have the weekend off. There is not even a Moto GP race. However, it is an exciting weekend if you like touring cars with races from the World Touring Car Championship, Japanese Super GT series and NASCAR.
The championship heads to the Slovakia Ring for its third race of the year. The cars will have two 10-lap races around the 6km (3.728mi) course. It is the second time that the WTCC has visited the track. Yvan Muller has dominated the championship this season after he scored maximum points at the first race in Monza and scored more points than any other driver in the second race in Morocco. He has a 37-point lead over Michel Nykjær in second place. Both races will be held on Sunday, April 28.
The Japanese touring car series holds its race at the Fuji Speedway for its second race in its nine-race calendar. The race will cover 500km over 110 laps. The race will be held on Monday, April 29, which is a public holiday in Japan, and qualifying will be on Sunday.
