For 2012 Aston Martin launched a Vantage GT3 race car to replace the DBRS9 that has been competing since 2005.
Like the DBRS9 that it replaces, the Vantage GT3 uses a tuned version of Aston Martin's 6.0 liter V12 engine producing 600hp and 700Nm of torque. In the Vantage it has been moved back slightly to improve weight balance.
Power is transferred to the rear wheels via a six-speed sequential transmission with semi-automatic paddle shifters.
