In 2010 Aston Martin Racing introduced the 2011 version of its motorsports model Vantage GT4. The new V8 engined racing car's look is inspired by Aston Martin’s V12 Vantage road car. For the race car, aerodynamics have been enhanced and downforce increased. Its 4.7 engine has also been improved and offers more power and torque.

As with the 2009 4.7 litre Vantage GT4, the 2011 racing car had been developed with the V12 Vantage as base. Features from the road car include the aluminium chassis, base engine and suspension design. Besides the engine and aero upgrades, Aston Martin Racing offers its customers for the first time the opportunity to choose between a race-developed Bosch ABS and traction control system. Specifically optimized by Bosch Motorsport for the Vantage GT4 this system provides race-enhanced performance in both wet and dry conditions.

The 2011 Vantage GT4 features a new splitter that increases downforce at the front of the car and also channels cooling air to the brakes and radiator. At the back the Vantage GT4 gets the V12’s larger boot ‘flip’, which is combined with a new carbon fibre diffuser and rear underfloor. This creates an area of low pressure under the rear of the car, to increase downforce.

Since 2009, Aston Martin Racing built and sold more than 80 Vantage GT4s and made it the most successful car in its class. In 2010 the Vantage GT4 won the European GT4 Cup as well as the GT4 class at the Dubai 24 Hours, the Nürburgring 24 Hours and the Spa 24 hours.
