The Audi Quattro was launched in 1980 and it worked both as a road and a rally car. It was specifically conceived for competing in rally racing, right after the competition rules started to allow four-wheel drive cars on the tracks. In fact, this model got its name from using four-wheel drive system, given that ‘quattro’ means ‘four’ in Italian.
The Audi Quattro is part of the Volkswagen Group car company, wholly owner of the Audi brand.
