The Brütsch 200 prototype was shown at the Paris Salon of 1954. The Société Air Tourist, headed by Jean Avot bought the license to produce it in France. The french version that debuted in 1955 at the Paris Show was very similar to the Brütsch 200. It was significantly changed in the following year. One of those changes was the badging. It became simply the Avolette.
