Designed by Giorgio Giugiaro the BMW M1 Homage was presented in 2008 at the Concorso d’Eleganza Villa d'Este and was unveiled to commemorate the 30th anniversary of the M1.

The style of this concept car is borrowed both the original M1 and the Turbo show car. The kidney grills from the original M1 got to the homage version, while the pop up light were eliminated. The Homage incorporated the double badge in the back of the car as the original M1.
