The 2012 Regal GS is powered by a high-output, exclusive Ecotec 2.0L turbocharged engine mated to a six-speed manual transmission, which is estimated to deliver 255 horsepower and 400 Nm of torque. The Regal GS is expected to accelerate from 0 to 60 mph in less than seven seconds.
By using direct injection technology Buick engineers made the engine deliver more power through increased efficiency, but also managed to maintain fuel economy and lowering emissions.
The look of the Regal GS features unique front and rear fascias. At the front it incorporates vertical air intake slots and specific grille treatment, with the vertical elements receiving a satin-metallic finish. At the back the Regal GS received a pair of integrated, satin-metallic trapezoidal exhaust outlets. Rocker panel extensions and an integrated rear spoiler are also integrated on the Regal GS design. It has an even sportier look the than the Regal sport sedan that went on sale in 2010.
The Buick 2012 Regal GS reaches markets in the second half of 2011.
