The Caterham 7 Roadsport 1.6 Monaco is a special edition launched in 2010 by the british automaker. As the name states, the car was inspired by the Principality of Monaco and especially their flag. This inspiration can be easily seen in the car's color scheme and stripes over the bonnet and flanks.   The noble nature of the car's name is also transposed to the interior which was hand-tailored with black leather and red highlights such as the carpeting.   This special edition is powered by a 1.6l engine from Ford with a power output of 125hp and a top speed of 180 km/h.

The two-seater is very popular in the United Kingdom for The Lotus/Caterham 7 commemorated its 50th anniversary in 2007. This model was banned from racing in the 1960s in the USA and in the 1970s in UK to be “too fast to race”. Both bans have been lifted, but Caterham adapted the line as a slogan of the car.   more
