The Superlight R600 was launched in 2012 and it is Caterham's first supercharged, production Seven7Caterham 7United Kingdom, 1973 > present67 versions

. It uses a six-speed sequential transmission that sends power to the rear wheels with a limited-slip differential. The cars come from the factory with Avon slick tires.

The R600 represents an increase in aggressiveness, although the linear power delivery of the supercharged engine makes it superbly driveable, much like the R300,” said Simon Lambert, Caterham’s Chief Motorsport and Technical Officer

While the R600 will be available for road use, Caterham will have a spec-series with 13 cars on the grid in 2013 and hopes to expand the grid to 30 cars for 2014.

The 7 (or Seven) is Caterham’s most popular model. The lightweight sports car, based on Lotus 7, was launched in 1973. Caterham 7 is sold in kits or already fully assembled. The two-seater is very popular in the United Kingdom for The Lotus/Caterham 7 commemorated its 50th anniversary in 2007. This model was banned from racing in the 1960s in the USA and in the 1970s in UK to be “too fast to race”. Both bans have been lifted, but Caterham adapted the line as a slogan of the car.   more
