First Automobile Works is a state owned company with headquarters in Changchun, China. The company produced commercial vehicles but in it turned to the manufacture of luxury sedans. Hongqi’s were the first domestically-produced Chinese cars. In 1992, the Company’s name was changed to China FAW Group Corporation. FAW is now the largest car builder in China.
