Chrysler introduced the second generation of the 200 at the 2014 NAIAS.
The 200 comes standard with nine-speed automatic transmission that gets 35mpg highway fuel economy. The engine range includes the 3.6-liter V6 with 295hp and 262lb-ft or a 2.4-liter four-cylinder with 184hp and 173lb-ft. It is also offered with an all-wheel drive system that disconnects from the rear axle when not in use.
The exterior certainly echoes the look of the Dart but with a completely new front end with narrow grill with Chrysler wings and narrow headlights. Chrysler says that this is its new brand face. It also features optional LED running lights, LED fog lights and standard LED taillights.
The interior of the 200 is a major upgrade over the Dart that it is based on with improved interior trim and materials. To maximize interior room, the 200 eschews a traditional shifter in favor of a rotary dial to select the gear. Chrysler’s 7in LED instrument cluster is optional with glowing bezels. A second screen in the instrument panels displays data for fuel economy, navigation, compass, outside temperature and time. It can also be upgraded with an Uconnect 8.4in touchscreen infotainment system with navigation.
