Produced by French manufacturer Citroën since 2005, the C1 is a city car which was developed as part of the B-Zero project by PSA Peugeot Citroën in a joint-venture with Toyota. Thanks to this joint venture the C1, Peugeot 107 and Toyota Aygo were created at the same time.
The Peugeot 107 is identical to the C1 other than the front bumper and front and rear lights, while the Toyota Aygo is slightly more differentiated but still obviously similar.
The Citröen was first unveiled at the 2005 Geneva Motor Show and received a number of updates for the 2009 model year.

Citroen introduced a redesigned version of the C1 micro car at the Brussels Motor Show on January 10th, 2012.
The redesign retains the same basic shape as the old C1. The Citroen chevron now has a cut out in the grill, and the headlights are even more ovacular. The front bumper is now separated into three distinct sections with the air intake in the center and fog lights to either side. The vertically-mounted daytime running lights are located with the fog lights. The sides and rear are basically identical to the previous version. It will continue to be avialable as either a three- or five-door.
The C1 is powered by the same in-line, three cylinder engine with 68hp. Even with the manual transmission, the C1 has improved fuel economy. Emissions are also down to 99g/km of CO2, compared to 106g/km last year. Citroen is also offering a new Electronic Gearbox System (EGS). This automatic transmission comes with steering wheel-mounted paddle shifters.
On the inside, EGS-equipped cars get a leather-covered steering wheel. The radio has been redesigned to match the instrument cluster. The radio is now capable of playing MP3s and comes with USB and Bluetooth connections.
