Facelift 2012

Citroën gave the C5 a slight exterior refresh and some added interior technology in 2012.

The C5 got a new front-end treatment that showcases the brand's redesigned chrome chevron emblem. It also got new 17in wheels and a new available body color - Guaranja brown. The Exclusive trim got new leather and cloth upholstery. Inside, all trims are available with Citroën's MyWay navigation system with connections for USB and Bluetooth. The C5 Touring estate has an available reverse camera.

Prices for the C5 start at €22,950 for a base VTi Attraction model and go up to €44,200 for a V6 HDi 240 Exclusive + with Suspension Hydractive III+. Touring models add a little over €1,000.

CrossTourer Variant

The C5 CrossTourer unveiled at the 2014 Geneva Motor Show takes the same features of the C5 and adds to it new technology and unique personality making it readier than ever for what the road has to offer

The all-road design gives the version specially designed wing extensions, lengthwise matte grey roof bars and matching 18-inch diamond-effect alloy wheels in matte grey, along with chrome-finished wing mirror housings and brushed aluminium protective fairing on the front and rear bumpers. These style attributes are combined with 15-mm higher ground clearance.

The C5 CrossTourer can adapt to all road types, in particular thanks to Hydractive III+ suspension. This world-exclusive technology manages body height in real time, keeping a constant ground clearance whatever the load. The system adapts the flexibility and damping settings in line with driver input and road surface for optimum comfort and handling under all circumstances. The body height is lowered at high speeds to reduce drag. At lower speeds, the C5 CrossTourer rides at two body heights – 6 cm up to 10 km/h and 4 cm up to 40 km/h – for improved clearance.

The variable body height also makes loading easier by raising or lowering the load sill. Hydractive III+ suspension is available with all engine versions apart from the HDi 115 manual and the e-HDi 115 Airdream EGS6. The C5 CrossTourer is fit with a massaging driver’s seat with electric lumbar adjustment and full leather upholstery.

Other technologies found on the C5 CrossTourer include the Intelligent Traction Control, which improves traction on snow- or mud-covered roads, and the eMyWay navigation system combined with a reversing camera for easier manoeuvres.

The C5 CrossTourer is available in two trim levels, Millenium and Exclusive, and powered by diesel engines ranging from 115hp to 200hp.
