AC Cobra (United Kingdom, 1962-1967)

In 1962, AC Cars began building the legendary Cobra, a hybrid Anglo-American sports car with Ford engines. The cars were built in the United Kingdom and then were exported to the United States, where ex-racing driver Carroll Shelby made some modifications to the original vehicle and included Ford engines and parts.   In the mid-1950’s, Shelby was very determined to create the fastest sports car that existed in the world. Even long before he was actually working on such car he decided to name it “Cobra”, declaring that the name had come to him in a dream. Three generations spawned from the AC Cobra, which stopped being produced in 1965.
